BYD Energy Storage simultaneously debuted the new Battery-Box Mega at the exhibition. Though categorized as a residential energy storage product, its application scenarios extend far beyond private households. Tailored for small factories, farms, retail stores, hotels and similar sites, the Battery-Box Mega combines industrial & commercial-grade performance with the convenient deployment features of residential storage equipment.

Industry-Leading Safety with Multi-Layer Protection

Equipped with intrinsically safe Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery cells, the product features a four-tier safety protection framework covering electrical safety, thermal runaway prevention, physical isolation and active suppression. The entire unit boasts IP66 dust and water resistance plus top-tier C5 anti-corrosion rating, enabling stable operation in fully open-air outdoor environments, coastal high-salt mist areas, and all climates ranging from -20°C to 55°C. It eliminates long-term operational risks caused by environmental corrosion at the source.

One-Time Installation, Lifelong Maintenance-Free Operation

The unit requires zero routine maintenance throughout its service life — no fluid replacement or periodic inspections are needed, and modular whole-unit replacement is supported. Notably, the Battery-Box Mega pairs seamlessly with BYD’s Power-Box TH inverter, which features a 42A high-current MPPT tracker, 200% PV oversizing capability and 150% off-grid overload capacity to easily power heavy-duty equipment. It achieves seamless power backup switching within 10 ms, and its DC-coupled design delivers superior efficiency to boost user investment returns.

The Battery-Box Mega covers a wide capacity range from 62.4 kWh to 5.24 MWh for residential and light commercial applications.
