Recently, CATL and Galaxy Universal Robotics officially signed a global strategic cooperation agreement. The two parties will focus on upgrading smart production lines, advance the global market expansion and large-scale application of embodied intelligent robots, and jointly formulate the world's first after-sales service standard for embodied intelligence.

01 50kg-Class Heavy Load, Specialized in Dirty and Strenuous Factory Tasks

The core highlight of this cooperation is Galbot S1, a heavy-duty humanoid robot developed by Galaxy Universal Robotics. It is the world's first embodied intelligent robot equipped with CATL batteries that operates on a regular basis.

Core Technical Specifications

• Dual-arm heavy load capacity up to 50 kilograms
• Centimeter-level precise positioning relying purely on vision systems
• 360° omnidirectional obstacle avoidance capability

Meanwhile, CATL’s battery cells adopt positive electrodes with particle gradation technology, low lithium-consumption anodes and bionic self-repair electrolyte. The cell failure rate reaches the PPB (parts per billion) level, enabling the robot to deliver an ultra-long 8-hour battery life while guaranteeing long service life and high safety for production line operations.

Application Scenarios

Galbot S1 has been officially deployed in CATL’s smart production lines, performing long-distance autonomous operations in module and battery pack manufacturing processes. It can directly replace manual labor in high-intensity procedures such as material handling and picking, effectively reducing the workload of frontline workers.

02 Integrating Robots into a Mature After-Sales Service System

CATL’s Ningjia Service, which originally provided mature services including battery inspection, maintenance and recycling for power batteries and energy storage systems, will now extend its service coverage to embodied intelligent robots. Relying on this framework, the two companies will establish the world’s first after-sales service standard for embodied intelligence.
