Recently, CALB Chairman Liu Jingyu showcased the company's self-developed automotive-grade 60Ah large-capacity solid-state battery. This product represents the core direction of next-generation battery technology. Liu Jingyu stated that this battery has reached new heights in both safety and energy density. Vehicles equipped with this technology will easily achieve a range exceeding 1000 kilometers, completely eliminating range anxiety.

As a leading domestic company pioneering the solid-state battery field, CALB has established an industry-leading solid-state production line for automotive applications. The company has achieved a new breakthrough in solid-state battery technology, successfully developing a 450Wh/kg solid-state battery system, and completed the first batch of product prototype testing in the industry. This marks a significant leap from laboratory experiments to engineering applications.

Quarter 4 of 2026: Delivery of 1,000 Robot-Level Products, 2027: Vehicle Application

CALB has taken a key step in the industrialization process of solid-state batteries. The company revealed that by 2025, solid-state batteries for robots and aircraft will be developed, with an energy density of 450Wh+/kg. Mass production of 1,000 robot-level units will be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year. For the passenger car market, CALB has simultaneously developed the "Boundless" solid-state battery with even higher energy density, using a high-energy material system to achieve an ultra-high energy density of 430Wh/kg, significantly ahead of the industry’s current mainstream level of 300-400Wh/kg. This technology has achieved key breakthroughs in aspects such as single-cell capacity, low-voltage operation, cycle life, and power performance, with plans for vehicle application in 2027.

Diverse Solid-State Battery Technology Routes: Chinese Companies Leading in Global Competition

Globally, solid-state batteries are primarily divided into three technical routes: sulfide, oxide, and polymer. Chinese companies adopt a diversified layout strategy. The sulfide route is recognized as the optimal solution for automotive-grade solid-state batteries due to its high ionic conductivity and good interface compatibility, with companies such as BYD and CATL focusing on this path. The oxide route excels in safety, with companies like Qingtao Energy, WeiLan New Energy, and Ganfeng Lithium already achieving mass production. The halide/polymer route has made breakthroughs in cost, with the ZrCl4 electrolyte studied by the team from the University of Science and Technology of China costing only one-twentieth of sulfides. The year 2026 is regarded as the "Year of Solid-State Battery Industrialization," with leading global companies accelerating their efforts. Chinese companies account for 70%-80% of the global market, leading the way in industrialization.
