BYD Energy Storage Unveils Groundbreaking Haohan at the 2025 International Digital Energy Expo

Today, the 2025 International Digital Energy Expo opened in Shenzhen. Industry leaders, experts, and professionals from around the world gathered to explore collaborative development paths under the theme of “cleaner energy generation, smarter grids, flexible demand, and diversified storage,” jointly envisioning a new ecosystem for digital energy. At the grand opening ceremony, BYD Energy Storage made a global debut of its brand-new storage product, “Haohan,” drawing significant attention.

Attending the opening ceremony were He Long, Executive Vice President of BYD Group and CEO of the Battery Business Group; Zhao Tong, Deputy General Manager of the Second Division and TBO Director; and Yin Xueqin, General Manager of the Energy Storage and New Battery Division. Additionally, Cao Hu, Dean of the Power Science Research Institute of the Energy Storage and New Battery Division, shared the “past and present” of Haohan, offering deep insights into the advanced technology and design philosophy behind BYD Energy Storage’s Haohan.

Haohan is equipped with the world’s largest 2710Ah blade battery designed specifically for energy storage. Compared with conventional storage batteries, it delivers more than 300% higher capacity and achieves a leap in energy density. Its minimum unit capacity reaches 14.5MWh—ranking first globally. Within an equivalent 20-foot container, Haohan delivers an impressive 10MWh of ultra-high capacity, with a Vcts of 52.1%, the highest in the world and 39.7% higher than the industry average. With fewer containers, smaller footprints, and a simplified management architecture, Haohan takes system integration to new heights, truly living up to the motto “small in size, big in energy.”

Haohan also boasts the world’s highest system protection rating—IP66. It offers complete dust resistance, standing strong against sandstorms and harsh conditions. This advanced protection extends the lifespan of dust-sensitive components by 100%, reduces system failure rates by 70%, and lowers maintenance costs by 70%, redefining the benchmark for all-scenario energy storage applications.

According to Cao Hu, BYD Energy Storage’s Haohan was developed with the philosophy of “greatness lies in simplicity.” Integrating ultra-safety, high efficiency, and long lifespan, it provides robust support for the arrival of the TWh-scale power station era, fully empowering grid upgrades and driving the energy storage industry toward a greener, smarter, and more sustainable future.

At the expo, BYD Energy Storage showcased Haohan alongside its self-developed PCS all-in-one machine GC Flux and EMS energy management system GC Master, delivering GW-level grid-forming energy storage solutions to global users. With the advantage of “full-stack in-house R&D, from cell to grid,” the system achieves optimal efficiency across the board, fully meeting the requirements of storage stations as hubs for both power and energy. This greatly enhances grid resilience and helps build a more flexible, robust, and intelligent energy future. The display drew crowds of visitors who stopped to watch, engage in discussions, and exchange ideas, making Haohan the undeniable star of the event.
