Ampace Officially Launches JP30 Cylindrical Lithium Battery Globally

On December 12, Ampace unveiled its latest innovation—the JP30 cylindrical lithium battery under the theme “Lightweight Power, Limitless Surge.” This milestone marks another significant leap in Ampace’s pursuit of high-power battery technology, showcasing its global ambitions and technological breakthroughs.
Global Debut of JP30: Breaking the Limits of 18650 Performance and Ushering in the Next Era of Power
As power tool environments grow increasingly complex, the demand for higher-performing batteries continues to rise. In response, Ampace has built on the success of its Jumbo-Power cylindrical battery series and the world’s first mass-produced JP40 by introducing the JP30—its first 18650-format product in the JP series.

Dr. Yuan Qingfeng, CTO of Ampace, explained, “For a long time, the industry believed that 18650 batteries had reached their performance ceiling. However, the JP30 breaks through that ceiling with a full-tab cell design. By using high energy density cathode materials alongside a new blend of fast-charging graphite and silicon-carbon composite anodes—and combining this with an ultra-high kinetics electrolyte—we’ve significantly elevated five key performance metrics: high power output, extended runtime, fast charging, long cycle life, and low-temperature operation.”

Beyond its powerful internals, the JP30 boasts a more compact and lightweight form factor, while delivering exceptional high-rate discharge performance. These qualities make it an ideal choice for next-generation cordless power tools—especially those requiring tight space and weight constraints.

The JP30 sets new standards across several performance categories, including sustained high-energy discharge, pulse output, battery life, charging speed, and wide-temperature adaptability.
Dr. Yuan outlined JP30’s outstanding technical highlights:
- Power Output: 36A continuous discharge for 5 minutes and 140A pulse discharge for 5 seconds—perfect for rebar cutting and concrete drilling.
- Battery Capacity: 3.0Ah capacity, 20% higher than traditional 2.5Ah 18650 cells, extending device runtime significantly.
- Cycle Life: 600+ cycles under 9A charge / 30A discharge conditions—tripling the life of conventional cylindrical batteries.
- Charging Speed: 80% charged in just 10 minutes—cutting downtime and improving field productivity.
- Low-Temperature Operation: Works reliably at -40°C, ideal for harsh environments.
