Ganfeng Launches Long-Range All-Terrain Robot Battery

Eighty years after Asimov wrote the Robot Series, the robotic era depicted in science fiction has arrived before our eyes. Battery Innovation with Hard Power: Expanding the Boundaries of Robot Freedom

Recently, Ganfeng's subsidiary Xinyu Ganfeng Electronics officially launched its intelligent all-terrain robot battery solution, incorporating multiple innovative applications in robotic power technology.

The Ganfeng robot battery adopts high-energy-density cells and features 7C high-rate discharge capability, sustaining over 3 hours of continuous discharge with a range of up to 15 km. While balancing energy density and power output, it precisely meets the endurance and power demands of quadrupedal robots—its lightweight battery structure and lift-pull design effectively reduce robot load and enhance mobility agility, while maintaining stable power output in complex scenarios such as mountain climbing, platform crossing, and water wading. Additionally, its multiple charging methods, including direct charging and battery swapping, cater to diverse needs across various usage scenarios.

The Ganfeng robot battery is also equipped with a three-dimensional safety protection system, ensuring stability in extreme conditions through structural protection, electrochemical protection, and intelligent monitoring. Structurally, the battery housing uses high-strength plastic-steel materials and IP67 waterproof sealing, combined with snap-fit fasteners to effectively resist external physical impacts and environmental corrosion. For electrochemical protection, the battery includes an anti-float charging module to extend lifespan. It also integrates five NTC high-precision sensors for comprehensive dynamic monitoring of cell and BMS temperatures, enabling smooth operation in environments ranging from -20°C to 55°C.

Self-Developed BMS Solution: Smarter Power Management

Over the years, Ganfeng batteries have achieved industrial applications in AGV robots, AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots), smart wearables, and other fields, accumulating extensive experience in BMS (Battery Management System) and scenario-based battery applications. The newly launched battery solution is specially tailored for all-terrain robots, ensuring seamless adaptation whether for prolonged patrols, high-intensity tasks, human-robot collaboration, or industrial production lines.

As the energy core of robot batteries, the BMS system must balance energy distribution among cells and ensure data security during battery usage, while improving lifespan through more precise charge-discharge management. The robot battery features a self-developed BMS solution, with the R&D team deeply involved in cell control and algorithm development for end products, ensuring optimal compatibility and smooth operation between robots and batteries. The battery achieves a state-of-charge (SOC) accuracy of approximately 3%-5%, with data sampling every 200 milliseconds, enabling automatic calibration during charging and discharging. This allows robots to autonomously return for charging during outdoor operations, preventing failure-to-return incidents due to low power. Furthermore, the battery pack has successfully passed certifications such as UL1642 and IEC62133.

The R&D and production team at Xinyu Ganfeng Electronics has partnered with multiple domestic robot manufacturers. The team can customize battery packs based on client requirements, with lead times shortened to two months and mass production achievable within six months. Currently, Xinyu Ganfeng Electronics can produce 600 sets of robot batteries per day.

Building a New Robot Battery Ecosystem to Drive Industrial Technological Evolution

According to GGII predictions, global lithium battery shipments for embodied intelligent robots will reach 2.2 GWh by 2025, with demand exceeding 100 GWh by 2030—a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 100% from 2025 to 2030. In the future, the global robot market will far surpass the scale of the automotive and 3C industries. Against this vast market backdrop, power systems for end products face immense challenges. Ganfeng is actively exploring technological evolution paths for robotic power, with the group's comprehensive solid-state battery layout offering further possibilities for upgrades.
