CATL's direct-sales platform goes live, attracting over 1,800 energy storage companies to make purchases

Since CATL Mall went live in June 2026, more than 1,800 energy storage companies have registered on the direct-sales platform, according to Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL). The online store is aimed at small and medium-sized system integrators and is intended to bring down cell prices by eliminating distributors from the supply chain.

CATL has also refreshed the product listings available on the site. LFP energy storage cells now start at 423 yuan per kWh, which is roughly 63 USD per kWh at current exchange rates. The catalog further includes 47-kWh and 105-kWh LFP storage modules, along with 20-foot, 6.6-meter containers that can deliver up to 5 MWh.

The company explained that the direct-sales model was introduced to help storage firms that often cannot reach the minimum order quantities required through conventional channels. Smaller buyers have typically depended on resellers and distributors, a situation that can create uncertainty about cell quality, consistency, and delivery timing. CATL noted that this problem has become more visible as distributed residential storage and home solar installations continue to expand.

A minimum order of three boxes, or 600 cells, comes with a five-year warranty and no extra fees, CATL said. Orders are also expected to ship within three to five days. The cells currently offered come in 280 Ah and 314 Ah versions, both rated for 1C charge and discharge and listed with a service life of 8,000 cycles at 70% state of health.

The 280 Ah cell is listed at 0.494 yuan per Wh, or about 73.5 USD per kWh, while the 314 Ah cell is priced at 0.423 yuan per Wh, roughly 62.9 USD per kWh. CATL has not published pricing for modules and containers. The company also pointed out that platform prices are dynamic and linked to raw material costs.

CATL Mall operates as a business-to-business platform, and registration requires a valid business license. The process is meant to be simple, although users who have not registered cannot view prices. CarNewsChina reported that after submitting the necessary documents, users are taken directly to the platform’s product pages.

CATL is the largest battery maker in China and the largest worldwide by installed capacity, with 31.4 GWh recorded in June 2026 and a 42.9% share of the domestic market.
