CALB Showcases Semi-Solid Cylindrical Battery at 2024 Shenzhen eVTOL Exhibition
2025-07-22 | Calvin

On September 23, 2024, the 2024 Shenzhen eVTOL Industry Development Conference and Low-Altitude Economy Exhibition was grandly held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. CALB made its debut with the new "Top Stream High-Energy - Super Flight Battery," contributing to the advancement of the low-altitude industry. At the exhibition, distinguished guests including Lin Zuoming, Chairman of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Shi Jianzhong, former Deputy General Manager of COMAC and Chairman of the Shanghai Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, visited the booth for exchanges.
"High-Energy" Racing in the Low-Altitude Sector
As a critical power source, high-performance battery technology will be the core driver for the development of low-altitude aircraft. CALB showcased its specialized flight battery, the "Top Stream High-Energy - Super Flight Battery," slated for launch in 2026. In terms of performance, the battery employs a solid-liquid hybrid electrolyte, with extreme temperature tolerance up to 200°C and an energy density of 350Wh/kg. While maintaining high energy density, it supports 10C+ continuous discharge, meeting the adaptability requirements for the entire range of flying cars. Structurally, the battery utilizes CALB's proprietary integrated technology and "Top Stream" design, reducing structural impedance by 50% and minimizing temperature rise during high-power discharge, thereby achieving better and more convenient flight accessibility.
This high-energy specialized flight battery supports both pure electric and hybrid models, suitable for multi-rotor, compound-wing, and vector-wing configurations. It can provide ample power for an 8-ton eVTOL, supporting a range of 3,000 kilometers in hybrid mode.
"High-Energy" Boosts Low-Altitude Development
To achieve continuous improvements in lightweight and safety performance, CALB remains committed to safety as its foundation, emphasizing innovation and increasing R&D investment. On October 24, 2022, the world's first electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) flying car, the Xpeng AeroHT X3 prototype, successfully completed its maiden flight. The vehicle was equipped with CALB's 9-series high-nickel/silicon battery system, developed specifically for low-altitude mobility. In July of this year, CALB's "medium-high capacity power battery pack" underwent a drop test for Xpeng AeroHT's flying car. Without any cushioning protection, the battery pack was dropped from a height of 15.2 meters and showed no signs of smoke or fire after 24 hours, earning high recognition from customers for its safety.
As a battery expert, CALB will continue to lead technological advancement through innovation, supporting the growth of the low-altitude economy with safe, reliable, and high-performance products.
