BYD Energy Storage Showcases at the 2026 World Future Energy Summit

From January 13 to 15, the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates. As a key global barometer for the clean energy sector, this year’s summit brought together numerous industry leaders and cutting-edge technologies. Making its first major appearance of the year, BYD Energy Storage presented its latest achievements in leading technologies, innovative products, and comprehensive energy storage solutions.

At the exhibition, the “Haohan” system drew significant attention. Equipped with the world’s largest mass-produced 2710Ah blade battery designed specifically for energy storage, the system offers a unit capacity of 14.5MWh and features an IP66 protection rating. This high level of protection significantly reduces maintenance costs and is particularly well suited to the hot, dusty environments of the Middle East. Combined with BYD’s fully self-developed GC Flux PCS medium-voltage integrated unit and the GC Master EMS energy management system, BYD Energy Storage has established a GW-scale grid-forming energy storage solution, providing critical support for large-scale photovoltaic grid integration in desert regions.

On site, BYD Energy Storage also showcased, through a sand-table model, a large-scale solar-plus-storage project that has been successfully connected to the grid in the extremely arid environment of Chile’s Atacama Desert. As the largest solar-plus-storage project in Latin America, BYD Energy Storage has delivered a total of 6.5GWh to the project, with the sixth phase alone reaching 3.5GWh—making it the largest single energy storage project in South America. This highlights BYD Energy Storage’s outstanding deployment and stable operation capabilities in complex and harsh environments worldwide.

In Saudi Arabia, BYD Energy Storage has delivered the world’s largest grid-side energy storage project, with a total capacity of 12.5GWh. Once fully connected to the grid, it will become a key pillar supporting the country’s energy transition. The stable operation of BYD’s Cube energy storage system in harsh environments such as desert fringes further validates its exceptional adaptability and reliability, providing a strong benchmark for the Middle East market.

To address residential energy storage needs, BYD Energy Storage exhibited its home energy storage product lineup, including the BYD Battery-Box LV5.0+. Featuring a 10-year warranty and 1C ultra-fast charge and discharge capability, the Battery-Box LV5.0+ pairs with the new low-voltage hybrid inverter from the Power-Box SL series to form a one-stop “energy storage + inverter” home energy solution. This system easily adapts to diverse environments, including high-temperature and high-humidity conditions, helping Middle Eastern households achieve energy independence.

Notably, the residential energy storage exhibition area also featured an innovative joint display of BYD’s home energy storage products alongside the DENZA B5 vehicle. This fully demonstrated BYD’s comprehensive technological across products, systems, and application scenarios in the new energy sector, as well as its end-to-end capabilities spanning deep technological expertise to ecosystem integration.
